Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and reporting for a dynamic organization near Laconia, New Hampshire. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to manage multiple entities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while supervising a small team. The role requires a hands-on approach to accounting processes and provides flexibility in work hours.

Job Responsibility:

Manage month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate financial data reporting
lead financial audits, including audits of federally funded programs, ensuring compliance with regulations
supervise and support two direct reports responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
prepare budgets for state-funded programs and manage federal grant allocations
administer accounting processes for multiple entities, including expense tracking and reimbursement
ensure compliance with all applicable financial standards and regulations.

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
strong knowledge of financial statement audits and account reconciliation
proficiency in preparing and managing budgets for state and federal programs
familiarity with payroll systems, especially Trivantus, and pension systems like NH Retirement
ability to supervise and mentor team members handling AP, AR, and payroll
experience with accounting systems specific to housing or similar industries
excellent organizational and communication skills
bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
