We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee advanced financial operations and maintain the integrity of accounting processes within our organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and supporting grant-related activities. The ideal candidate will excel in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and have a strong commitment to managing financial data efficiently.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in general ledger transactions
Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial integrity
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing required schedules
Analyze financial data to identify inconsistencies and deliver actionable insights
Assist in developing budgets and forecasts to support organizational planning
Facilitate audit preparations by compiling relevant documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
Ensure compliance with industry accounting standards and organizational policies
Oversee payroll accounting entries and reconciliations to ensure proper recording of transactions
Collaborate with the Grants Department to develop and revise contract and grant budgets
Provide technical accounting guidance and contribute to special projects as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
Minimum of five years of accounting experience with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes
Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation and financial analysis
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems
Strong analytical abilities paired with excellent attention to detail
Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
Experience with grant accounting and financial audits is highly preferred
