We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in New York, New York. In this hybrid role, you will oversee critical financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and compliance with industry standards. This position offers a long-term contract opportunity, providing a chance to contribute to organizational success while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and process accurate customer invoices, including labor and expense items, while adhering to established billing schedules
Utilize financial software systems, such as PeopleSoft, to independently generate invoices with minimal errors, ensuring compliance with contract terms
Reconcile expenses, validate system-generated invoices, and review supporting documentation for accuracy
Monitor aging accounts receivable and proactively follow up with customers to ensure timely payment and prevent disruptions to cash flow
Conduct monthly reconciliations of key financial accounts, including unbilled and deferred revenue, for precise reporting
Apply accounting expertise to accurately record transactions related to revenue recognition and receivable amounts
Respond to audit requests and support ad-hoc reporting requirements as needed
Collaborate with internal departments to improve accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and government standards, including submissions through designated platforms
Assist with additional duties as assigned to support the overall accounting function
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited U.S. institution
5-7 years of experience in property management accounting, including residential and commercial sectors
Proficiency in financial software systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP solutions
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, and SUMIF functions
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and GAAP principles
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail for managing diverse customer requirements
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management software is a plus
