A manufacturing company in Milford, CT is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can oversee daily accounting operations, support month-end close, and help ensure accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and journal entries
Manage month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports
Monitor inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related financial activity
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
Supervise or support AP, AR, and payroll-related accounting functions as needed
Partner with leadership to provide financial insight and operational support
Assist with audit preparation and special projects
Requirements
Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or in a senior accounting role preferred
Experience in manufacturing accounting, including inventory and cost accounting, strongly preferred
Strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting, and close processes
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
CPA or advanced accounting credentials are a plus
