Job Responsibility:
Collaborates and shares responsibility for the monthly close process to prepare, or review, financial statements, which encompasses maintaining all accounting records, designing, executing financial controls, and preparing financial reports for management
Analytically reviews monthly reported results against previous periods, plan and forecast to identify unusual activity and/or transactions
Preparation of capital call and distribution calculations and related notices to investors
Journal entries to record capital contributions and distributions
Oversee the monitoring of investment-in and capital balances, including investor statements and internal rate of return calculations
Respond to ad hoc investor requests
Prepare wire and ACH payment requests
Assist with the development of the investor portal and ongoing monitoring of documents and communications
Supervision of new entity setup and new joint ventures ensuring all Owner/Entity requirements are documented and met
Support the external auditors and tax preparers to assist in their completion of an efficient audit and tax returns of the entities
Review of tax returns
Oversee the 1099 process and work with external tax preparers to assist in their completion of forms
Provides overall support by investigating accounting questions, issues, and judgments and by partnering with team members from other business units to assist with accounting questions
Provide leadership in knowledge, training, and utilization of assigned accounting and investor software
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
At least five years of professional work experience in accounting
Public and/or CPA is preferred
Understanding of Partnership tax returns and overall tax experience is preferred
Highly developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Approaches cross-departmental relationships with a customer service mentality and works well with associates of all levels
Acute attention to detail
Works well independently and as a member of various teams
Manages multiple projects and meets goals and deadlines timely and consistently
Requires minimal guidance to accomplish general tasks

Commitment to excellence and high standards
Experience with Yardi Voyager preferred
Strong familiarity and use of Excel, including complex Excel formulas, and PowerPoint
