Job Description:

Step Into Leadership in Private Equity Accounting — Accounting Manager ($135–150K). Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half is partnering with a San Francisco-based asset manager overseeing $4B+ across private equity and credit strategies. This is a high-visibility Accounting Manager role for someone ready to own key workflows, guide junior staff, and operate at the center of fund and GP economics.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead accounting across GP entities, carried interest, and the management company
  • Oversee month-end close, general ledger integrity, and financial reporting
  • Manage partnership allocations, capital activity, and fund-level accounting processes
  • Review and guide work related to waterfall calculations and distribution mechanics
  • Partner with investment, operations, and external stakeholders (auditors, tax advisors)
  • Drive process improvements and help scale systems and workflows

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 5–8+ years of experience in private equity, fund accounting, or public accounting with fund clients
  • Deep understanding of partnership accounting, GP/LP structures, and carried interest
  • Experience with management company accounting, budgeting, and reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • familiarity with systems like Allvue is a plus
  • Proven ability to prioritize, review work, and mentor others

Nice to have:

  • Experience with waterfall modeling and complex distribution scenarios
  • Knowledge of capital account maintenance and tax allocations
  • Ability to interpret LP agreements and apply them operationally
