Step Into Leadership in Private Equity Accounting — Accounting Manager ($135–150K). Jennifer Fukumae with Robert Half is partnering with a San Francisco-based asset manager overseeing $4B+ across private equity and credit strategies. This is a high-visibility Accounting Manager role for someone ready to own key workflows, guide junior staff, and operate at the center of fund and GP economics.
Job Responsibility:
Lead accounting across GP entities, carried interest, and the management company
Oversee month-end close, general ledger integrity, and financial reporting
Manage partnership allocations, capital activity, and fund-level accounting processes
Review and guide work related to waterfall calculations and distribution mechanics
Partner with investment, operations, and external stakeholders (auditors, tax advisors)
Drive process improvements and help scale systems and workflows
Requirements:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
5–8+ years of experience in private equity, fund accounting, or public accounting with fund clients
Deep understanding of partnership accounting, GP/LP structures, and carried interest
Experience with management company accounting, budgeting, and reporting
Advanced Excel skills
familiarity with systems like Allvue is a plus
Proven ability to prioritize, review work, and mentor others
Nice to have:
Experience with waterfall modeling and complex distribution scenarios
Knowledge of capital account maintenance and tax allocations
Ability to interpret LP agreements and apply them operationally
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, cross-functional approach
