Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Miami, Florida, within the dynamic retail industry. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to oversee key accounting operations, including financial reporting, tax management, and intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in technical accounting, familiarity with major ERP systems, and experience working with mid-sized companies.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Perform extensive General Ledger (GL) activities, including reconciliations and adjustments
Prepare and manage sales and use tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Generate detailed financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning
Utilize NetSuite or similar ERP systems to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Research and apply ASC 842 technical accounting standards as required
Handle intercompany transactions, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial audits and reporting requirements
Supervise and mentor accounting staff to foster growth and maintain high performance
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Extensive experience with General Ledger (GL) accounting and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of sales and use tax regulations
Proficiency in using NetSuite or other major ERP systems
Familiarity with ASC 842 technical accounting standards
Previous experience managing intercompany transactions
Background in working with companies generating $100M-$300M in revenue
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
