We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a 2 month contract in Plano, Texas. This is 100% onsite. In this role, you will oversee key financial reporting and accounting processes for a banking institution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position requires strong expertise in regulatory reporting and a solid understanding of banking operations. As a vital member of the team, you will collaborate with the Chief Accounting Officer to deliver timely and reliable financial information.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare accurate journal entries for the general ledger in compliance with banking-specific accounting standards
Reconcile various accounts monthly to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Assist in creating monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements while adhering to established deadlines
Support internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation and addressing inquiries
Handle regulatory reporting requirements for state banking agencies, ensuring adherence to compliance standards
Analyze financial data and identify variances, providing detailed insights to management
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely completion
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and verify financial data
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant banking regulations
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting team
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least seven years of accounting experience, preferably within the banking or financial services sector
Proven expertise in public accounting, particularly for financial institutions
Familiarity with cash flow statements and regulatory reporting requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables), Word, and Outlook
Experience with accounting software such as Dynamics and Great Plains
Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Power Pivot, and databases
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment
