We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support financial operations for a portfolio of residential communities in Denver, Colorado. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can oversee close activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and collaborate with operational leaders on financial performance. The role focuses on delivering reliable month-end results, maintaining strong balance sheet integrity, and contributing to audit readiness and process improvements.
Job Responsibility:
Lead month-end accounting activities for multiple residential properties
Prepare and review account reconciliations related to cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key balance sheet areas
Evaluate journal entries and closing adjustments to maintain compliance with company accounting standards
Work closely with community and operations leadership to explain financial results, investigate variances, and provide budget-versus-actual analysis
Support property and real estate accounting functions including fixed asset tracking, depreciation recording, capital spend monitoring, and cost allocation activities
Assist with cash flow planning and banking activity reviews
Contribute to tax-related accounting support, audit preparation, and documentation requests
Requirements:
Experience managing month-end close and general ledger activities in an accounting environment
Strong background in account reconciliations, journal entry review, and accrual-based accounting
Ability to support monthly financial reporting and interpret balance sheet and income statement activity
Familiarity with financial statement audits and preparing schedules or documentation for auditors
Knowledge of real estate or property accounting, including fixed assets, depreciation, and capital expenditures
Understanding of cash reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and expense allocation methods
Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner effectively with operational stakeholders on financial performance
