Job Description:

This Contract to permanent position offers a dynamic opportunity to oversee advanced accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and support critical closing processes. The role emphasizes mentorship and collaboration, providing guidance to AP and AR clerks while fostering a culture focused on attention to detail and adherence to best practices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial records
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports, providing actionable insights to leadership
  • Act as a mentor to AP and AR clerks, offering training, guidance, and constructive feedback to promote their growth
  • Enhance internal controls and accounting processes by identifying and implementing improvements
  • Support audits by organizing documentation and addressing inquiries from auditors
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and improve efficiency within the accounting function
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance
  • Participate in special projects and conduct ad hoc analyses as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, such as NetSuite
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to mentor or coach entry-level staff, fostering growth and skill development
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
