Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Warwick, Rhode Island. This role focuses on construction project accounting, requiring a high level of technical expertise and advanced financial management skills. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in handling complex reconciliations, grant administration, and compliance with federal and state funding requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee construction project accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting
  • perform advanced reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records
  • manage grant administration processes, including compliance tracking and preparation of financial reports
  • utilize expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and creating detailed financial reports
  • collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to federal and state funding regulations
  • support accounts payable and receivable operations, maintaining efficiency and accuracy
  • leverage expertise in accounting software systems such as ERP, BlackLine, and Concur to streamline processes
  • conduct audits to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies in financial data
  • handle billing functions and ensure timely invoicing for all projects
  • provide insights and recommendations to improve overall accounting practices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in construction project accounting with strong technical accounting skills
  • advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
  • knowledge of grant administration and compliance with federal and state funding requirements
  • familiarity with accounting software systems such as ERP, BlackLine, and Concur
  • strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
  • ability to perform detailed reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records
  • experience conducting audits and resolving financial discrepancies
  • excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
