Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Warwick, Rhode Island. This role focuses on construction project accounting, requiring a high level of technical expertise and advanced financial management skills. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in handling complex reconciliations, grant administration, and compliance with federal and state funding requirements.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee construction project accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting
perform advanced reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial records
manage grant administration processes, including compliance tracking and preparation of financial reports
utilize expert-level Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and creating detailed financial reports
collaborate with teams to ensure adherence to federal and state funding regulations
support accounts payable and receivable operations, maintaining efficiency and accuracy
leverage expertise in accounting software systems such as ERP, BlackLine, and Concur to streamline processes
conduct audits to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies in financial data
handle billing functions and ensure timely invoicing for all projects
provide insights and recommendations to improve overall accounting practices

Requirements:

Proven experience in construction project accounting with strong technical accounting skills
advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas and data analysis
knowledge of grant administration and compliance with federal and state funding requirements
familiarity with accounting software systems such as ERP, BlackLine, and Concur
strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
ability to perform detailed reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records
experience conducting audits and resolving financial discrepancies
excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
