Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Accounting Manager is to lead and oversee the accounting team, ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, comprehensive financial reporting, and adherence to accounting standards and regulations.

  • Lead and oversee monthly closing activities and financial reporting
  • Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Coordinate with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Supervise and oversee performance of Accounting team
  • Interview, hire, and train new staff
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in accounting management or supervisory roles
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems including BlackLine, Concur, and ERP platforms
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, preferably ADP
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct audits and ensure financial compliance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and collaborate across departments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong management and supervisory skills
  • Effective planning and priority setting
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
