We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a Long-term Contract opportunity based in Middletown, Rhode Island. This role will lead core accounting activities while strengthening financial oversight across grants, reimbursements, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational accounting expertise and the ability to partner with leadership and program teams to guide sound financial planning and accurate fund management.
Job Responsibility:
Direct daily accounting activities across payables, receivables, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance to ensure accurate and timely financial operations
Administer the financial management of federal, state, and privately funded grants, including invoicing, tracking, and reporting obligations
Build and maintain grant budgets, spending projections, and allocation methodologies that support proper use of restricted funding
Review grant activity for adherence to Uniform Guidance, including allowable costs, procurement requirements, and supporting time and effort records
Track spending patterns and burn rates across awards, recommending adjustments to help programs remain aligned with available funding
Partner with program leadership to monitor fund utilization, maintain financial accuracy, and support compliance with grant terms and service-line needs
Coordinate with billing leadership to validate Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial claim activity and support compliance with reimbursement requirements
Analyze reimbursement performance, payer mix, and revenue cycle metrics to identify trends and improve financial visibility
Prepare cost reporting and other finance-related documentation while maintaining compliance with regulatory, funding, and certification standards
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts in collaboration with senior finance leadership and executive stakeholders
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of accounting operations spanning accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
Background in grant accounting with the ability to manage budgets, billing, compliance, and funding restrictions
Familiarity with financial statement audits and maintaining documentation that supports regulatory and audit readiness
Understanding of federal and state compliance requirements, including Uniform Guidance and cost allowability standards
Ability to interpret reimbursement data, monitor key revenue cycle indicators, and support accurate billing practices
Proven skill in account reconciliation, financial analysis, and developing practical budget forecasts
Effective communication skills with the ability to work closely with finance leaders, billing teams, and program management
