Job Description:

We are partnering with a growing, dynamic organization in Long Beach to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and supervise a team of six. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end close, and maintaining strong accounting processes in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and an effective people leader who can drive accountability while supporting team development and process improvement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
  • Supervise a team of six accounting professionals, providing coaching, oversight, and performance management
  • Oversee general ledger activity, including review and approval of journal entries and supporting documentation
  • Manage account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved
  • Prepare and review financial statements and internal management reports
  • Coordinate audit activities, including preparation of schedules and response to auditor requests
  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with leadership to support business initiatives and financial reporting needs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team (experience overseeing 5+ staff preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities in an accounting manager or supervisor capacity
  • Strong experience managing month-end close activities in a complex business environment
  • In-depth knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Proven ability to support financial statement audits and work effectively with external auditors
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues and resolve account variances
  • Experience preparing and reviewing reconciliations, financial data, and supporting schedules with a high level of accuracy
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
