Job Description

Steven Lahey with Robert Half is seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Manager to join our client in a mostly in-office role. This position will oversee core accounting functions, ensure financial integrity, and lead process improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings strong technical accounting expertise.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Manage and execute the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Coordinate audits and act as a primary liaison with external auditors
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience preferred, with progressive responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on-site full-time

Nice to have

  • CPA or CPA-eligible is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Background in a corporate or public accounting environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
