Job Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting functions for a well-established, growing construction company with diverse commercial and residential projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who can manage day-to-day operations, oversee job costing and reporting, and drive process improvements, all while partnering closely with project teams and executive leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
  • Manage month- and year-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Prepare timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
  • Oversee job costing, WIP, and project reporting
  • Partner with operations and finance on budgeting, forecasting, and planning
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance
  • Drive process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure certified payroll, lien waiver, and AIA billing compliance
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s and/or CPA a plus)
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in Construction
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Deep understanding of Construction accounting practices, including job costing, WIP, retainage, progress billing, AIA billing, etc.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with project managers, leadership, and external stakeholders
