Accounting Manager

• Manages and supports the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance reviews
• Oversees daily billing, collections, A/R, and A/P activities
• Supports the Controller and ensures deadlines and quality standards are met
• Creates a positive, team-focused work environment and coordinates staff matters with HR
• Maintains and improves accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Trains staff firm-wide on accounting processes and systems
• Handles daily banking activities, including deposits, transfers, and wires
• Assists with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end and year-end close
• Provides hands-on support, resolves system issues, and helps with software upgrades and automation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• 3+ years managing accounting operations and supervising staff in professional services
• law firm experience preferred
• Strong leadership, supervision, and team development skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and business judgment
• Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Highly organized
• able to manage multiple priorities at once
• Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting systems
• Ability to quickly learn Aderant Sierra and other accounting software to produce accurate reports
