The Accounting Manager oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the accounting department and ensures accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and internal policies. This role leads a team of accountants, manages the month‑end close process, develops internal controls, and partners with leadership to support strategic financial decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
Assign work, set priorities, and ensure accurate and timely completion of responsibilities
Support hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
Manage the month‑end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Analyze financial results and provide insights on trends and variances
Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial data
Prepare audit schedules and serve as a key liaison for external auditors
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger functions
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency
Support implementation of new financial systems or system enhancements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA or CMA strongly preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
Experience in public accounting or a mix of public and corporate accounting is a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills
Proven leadership, communication, and people‑management capabilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
