Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee lease accounting processes, general ledger activities, and month-end close procedures. This long-term contract position provides the opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy and compliance while supporting operational improvements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage all aspects of lease accounting, including approximately 60 operating leases for manufacturing facilities
  • Update and maintain the lease accounting system, ensuring data accuracy and functionality
  • Prepare and review monthly lease entries, including rents, amortization, right-of-use asset activity, and payment validations
  • Ensure lease schedules comply with relevant accounting standards, such as ASC 842, and support financial disclosures
  • Assist with the preparation of footnotes and other financial statement disclosures related to lease activities
  • Review and prepare journal entries for various accounts, including prepaids, accruals, rent schedules, debt, and FX translations
  • Conduct reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, such as prepaid accounts and GR/IR balances
  • Collaborate with less experienced team members by reviewing their entries and providing constructive feedback
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting through meticulous review and validation processes

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management
  • Strong knowledge of lease accounting standards and frameworks such as ASC 842
  • Expertise in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations
  • Familiarity with financial statement audits and related disclosures
  • Advanced skills in handling lease accounting systems such as Lease Query or similar
  • Ability to support continuous improvement initiatives in accounting operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in financial reporting
