Job Responsibility:
Monitor hotel revenues and expenses to ensure accurate recording in accordance with company guidelines
Analyze financial performance, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for improvement
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and bank statements
Manage cash flow, receivables, deposits, and cash balances
Oversee billing, collections, and credit processes (city ledger accounts)
Ensure compliance with all licenses, permits, contracts, and applicable taxes
Support audits and maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts internal and external requirements
Maintain and audit internal controls related to purchasing, cash handling, payroll, and disbursements
Ensure purchasing procedures are followed, including PO matching and invoice accuracy
Safeguard hotel assets and maintain accurate financial records
Identify process improvements and address control weaknesses
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
Review night audit reports and ensure accuracy of daily revenue postings
Reconcile credit cards, general cashier reports, and guest ledger balances
Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices and vendor statements
Supervise, train, and develop accounting team members
Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management
Collaborate with department leaders to support hotel financial goals
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
3–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
Strong knowledge of hotel accounting processes (night audit, AR/AP, city ledger, PMS systems)
Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office
Solid understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally
Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player
Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local health and safety regulations
Ability to grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 50 pounds
Ability to operate various food and beverage equipment present at a function
Ability to set realistic goals and standards
