We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our public accounting client in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting and financial management who thrives in a client-facing environment. The position offers the opportunity to oversee accounting processes, lead teams, and deliver exceptional service to clients while maintaining accuracy and integrity.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee the accounting processes for multiple clients utilizing QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping
Record and reconcile transactions, including bank accounts, credit cards, fixed asset purchases, and loan accounts
Maintain and analyze accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely bill payments and accurate reporting
Conduct month-end closings, generate financial reports, and provide analysis for client distribution
Monitor cash flow and provide actionable recommendations to clients when necessary
Integrate and oversee third-party software tools that interface with QuickBooks, such as Expensify and Amazon Business
Prepare and file sales tax returns and post year-end closing entries as required
Process payroll through third-party providers and accurately record payroll entries in the system
Review and prepare year-end financial documentation to support income tax return preparation
Train clients and staff on QuickBooks Online usage and oversee staff performing month-end closings and payroll processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered
Minimum of three years of experience in accounting, with client-facing or public accounting experience being a plus
Certification as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor is preferred, along with required experience in QuickBooks Online
Proven understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as familiarity with payroll processing and tax filings
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on client service and collaboration
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite tools
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team
