We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor with a strong background in the financial services industry to join our team in Hawthorne, California. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, thrives in overseeing financial operations, and ensures accuracy in reporting. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with industry regulations while managing daily accounting functions.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries align with organizational standards
Conduct detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies effectively
Prepare and review journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Lead financial statement audits by coordinating with internal teams and external auditors
Ensure compliance with federal credit union regulations and industry standards
Monitor and analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making
Supervise and mentor accounting staff to enhance team performance
Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the credit union or banking industry
Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger operations
Strong knowledge of federal credit union regulations and compliance requirements
Must have banking and/or credit union industry experience
Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
Experience leading financial statement audits with successful outcomes
Familiarity with accounting systems and tools used in the financial services industry
Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing teams and collaborating across departments
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
