We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support accurate financial oversight for our Sun Valley, California location. This position plays a central role in financial reporting, inventory control, payroll coordination, and office administration. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep multiple processes organized in a fast-moving environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the general ledger and related records using accrual-based accounting practices, ensuring transactions are properly documented and posted accurately
Prepare recurring financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and supporting general ledger detail for management review
Manage month-end and year-end close activities by completing reconciliations, recording journal entries, and confirming the accuracy of balance sheet accounts
Review accounts receivable, accounts payable, open sales orders, and open purchase orders on a regular basis to help maintain strong financial control
Administer payroll processing and time-off tracking while helping ensure employee records and related data remain current and accurate
Maintain product and inventory data, including cost structures, pricing, landed cost calculations, lot tracking, and expiration details, in coordination with warehouse and shipping teams
Support daily transactional workflows such as customer invoicing, sales order entry, purchase order processing, vendor bill entry, credit memos, deposits, card activity, and weekly payment runs
Address customer account concerns related to orders, invoices, shipping timelines, returns, and outstanding balances, while coordinating with sales staff when needed
Contribute to office operations by monitoring supply purchases, assisting with administrative processes, and partnering with external advisors on year-end reporting such as 1099 preparation
Requirements:
At least 3 years of accounting experience, including work involving inventory accounting and month-end close responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent practical experience in a related accounting role
Strong working knowledge of general ledger management, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, ideally QuickBooks Enterprise, along with solid Excel skills
High level of accuracy with the ability to manage detailed financial and inventory information effectively
Ability to identify issues, improve processes, and keep accounting operations running efficiently with limited oversight
Comfortable working independently and collaborating with others in a fast-paced business environment
Prior experience supervising or guiding team members is preferred but not required
