We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee and enhance our accounting operations in Plymouth, Wisconsin. This role involves leading key financial processes, maintaining compliance, and driving efficiency improvements across the team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting principles and leadership, ensuring accurate reporting and encouraging growth within the department.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the daily operations of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, deposits, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Lead month-end closing processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial reports
Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax reporting requirements, and regulatory standards, including 1099 and sales tax filings
Act as a point of escalation for complex accounting issues, supporting collections efforts and maintaining data integrity within financial systems
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and standardize workflows across the accounting team
Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, promoting development and accountability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address internal and external customer needs and exceed expectations
Support audits, tax compliance, and financial reviews while ensuring all documentation and processes meet required standards
Travel as needed to attend meetings, events, or training sessions, totaling approximately 3–4 weeks per year
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and optimize financial processes
Requirements:
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong foundation in financial principles and practices
Proficiency in managing month-end close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger management, and journal entries
Familiarity with NetSuite or similar financial systems, with the ability to maintain data integrity
Strong leadership skills, including prior supervisory or team lead experience
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, communicate complex financial information clearly, and maintain attention to detail
Experience supporting audits and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and financial standards
A mindset focused on operational accuracy, continuous improvement, and accountability
