We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead day-to-day accounting operations in Louisville, Kentucky. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual who can independently manage the full accounting cycle, maintain accurate financial records, and provide dependable reporting to operational leadership. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of core financial processes while supporting a well-run and accurate accounting environment.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the full accounting function independently, serving as the primary accounting resource and partnering closely with the Director of Operations
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure timely processing, accurate records, and consistent cash flow visibility
Perform account reconciliations and maintain the general ledger with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Lead monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries, reviewing balances, and finalizing financial results on schedule
Prepare financial statements and related reports that support informed business and operational decision-making
Coordinate with external accounting partners during quarterly reviews and provide documentation needed to support accuracy and compliance
Use Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data, maintain records, and improve reporting efficiency
Identify and resolve accounting issues proactively while adapting quickly to changing priorities and business needs
Requirements:
Proven experience managing core accounting processes, including month-end close, general ledger activity, and financial statement preparation
Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and account reconciliation
Ability to operate effectively as a self-directed accounting specialist with minimal supervision
Proficiency with Sage 100 and Microsoft Excel in a business accounting environment
Quick learning ability and sound judgment when handling deadlines, shifting demands, and complex accounting tasks
Strong resilience and confidence working in a role that requires accountability and independent decision-making
A degree is not required if supported by substantial, relevant accounting experience
