Accounting Manager/Supervisor

• Provide strategic direction for daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, and internal reporting
• Lead and mentor the in-office accounting team, fostering accountability and precision in financial tasks
• Analyze gross profit margins and job cost data to support informed business decisions
• Oversee progress billing processes to ensure contract compliance and optimize billing efficiency
• Review and validate commission structures tied to job profitability
• Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the accounting department
• Manage lien processes, including tracking, notices, and waivers, to ensure compliance
• Coordinate financial activities across multiple office locations to maintain consistency and accuracy
• Monitor overhead and operational expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency
• Collaborate closely with leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and enhancing financial processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting, preferably within a subcontractor environment with high transaction volumes
• Demonstrated ability to lead accounting teams and implement financial systems effectively
• Hands-on experience with progress billing, job costing, lien laws, and financial scheduling
• Advanced proficiency in construction accounting software such as Sage 300, Foundation, or Viewpoint, along with strong Excel skills
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
