Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee the financial operations of a manufacturing facility. This role combines day-to-day accounting leadership with financial planning responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who is comfortable working independently and contributing directly to the close process. The position requires strong analytical judgment, advanced spreadsheet skills, and the ability to support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting with accuracy and efficiency.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the full monthly close cycle, including preparation of journal entries, review of account activity, and completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage the general ledger and maintain accurate financial records to support timely internal and external reporting
  • Prepare plant-level financial reports and provide analysis that helps leadership understand operating performance
  • Direct the development of departmental, operational, and capital budgets while supporting ongoing forecasting activities
  • Monitor budget performance and investigate variances to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improved financial control
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to gather financial data, validate assumptions, and strengthen planning processes across the facility
  • Support audit-related activities by organizing schedules, reconciling accounts, and ensuring documentation is complete and reliable
  • Use advanced Excel skills to analyze large data sets, build financial models, and improve reporting visibility for management

Requirements

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with significant involvement in general ledger activity and month-end close
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and financial performance analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting, modeling, and data analysis
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, or construction environments is strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on role with broad ownership of accounting and finance responsibilities
  • Familiarity with financial statement support and audit preparation processes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail
