Job Responsibility

  • Lead daily accounting operations across the general ledger, payables, receivables, cash activity, and account reconciliation functions
  • Supervise and support accounting staff, setting priorities and reviewing work to maintain accuracy and timeliness
  • Direct the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and related schedules
  • Produce financial reports that help leadership evaluate performance and make informed business decisions
  • Coordinate audit preparation efforts by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and assisting with financial statement support

Requirements

  • Prior experience in an accounting leadership role with responsibility for supervising staff and overseeing daily financial operations
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing documentation for external review
  • Background in nonprofit accounting or a strong understanding of nonprofit financial practices
  • Ability to analyze financial information accurately and apply sound judgment to accounting decisions
  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and commitment to ethical accounting standards
  • Proficiency working in accounting systems and spreadsheet tools to manage reporting and financial data
