Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead our accounting operations in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This role requires expertise in construction accounting, financial reporting, and advanced QuickBooks capabilities. You will oversee a small team, manage monthly and year-end close processes, and ensure compliance with regulations while delivering accurate financial insights to support executive decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
Manage monthly and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses
Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
Administer QuickBooks, maintaining the chart of accounts and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Monitor accounts receivable aging and lead collection efforts to optimize cash flow
Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards and government contract requirements
Coordinate with program managers to provide contract-specific financial reporting and support audits
Strengthen internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
At least five years of progressive accounting experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity
Proficiency in construction accounting principles, including cost accounting and contract billing
Advanced skills in QuickBooks (Online) and Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of GAAP standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
Exceptional organizational skills
