We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, guiding the month-end close process, and supporting reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger expertise, a hands-on approach to reconciliations and journal entries, and the ability to collaborate effectively during audit activities.
Job Responsibility:
Direct monthly closing activities to ensure deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate
Oversee general ledger maintenance, including review of account activity and resolution of discrepancies
Prepare and approve journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and accounting rationale
Perform and supervise account reconciliations to confirm balances are properly stated
Support the preparation of financial reports and help ensure consistency with accounting standards and internal policies
Partner with auditors by organizing requested documentation, answering questions, and assisting through financial statement audit procedures
Monitor accounting processes for accuracy, compliance, and opportunities to strengthen internal controls
Provide day-to-day guidance to accounting staff and promote efficient execution of departmental priorities
Requirements:
5+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close activities
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation practices
Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries in a structured accounting environment
Background supporting or leading financial statement audit processes
Ability to analyze financial information, identify variances, and resolve accounting issues effectively
Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and reconciliation
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
