We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager/Supervisor (stand-alone) to oversee a wide range of accounting and financial operations at our office in Palo Alto, California. This role involves managing critical financial processes, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency across various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and leadership, coupled with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee accounts payable processes, including contract management for independent contractors
Manage royalty collections and ensure accurate reporting
Handle treasury functions such as cash flow forecasting and coordinating domestic and international wire transfers
Reconcile cash accounts and credit card expense reports, while ensuring proper expense reporting from staff
Perform reconciliations and generate ad-hoc reports using Excel and QuickBooks Online
Maintain accurate records for depreciation, fixed assets, and prepaid accounts
Prepare property tax returns and support the creation of annual and quarterly budgets
Coordinate and manage the annual preparation of Form 1099 and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Act as the primary liaison during the annual financial statement audit
Collaborate with various teams across the organization to ensure smooth financial operations.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field (preferably nonprofit industry)
Proficiency in month-end close processes and working with general ledger systems
Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and related compliance standards
Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
Familiarity with cash flow analysis and accounts payable functions
Advanced skills in Excel and experience with QuickBooks Online
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
