Job Description

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee core financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Asheville, North Carolina. This role will lead key accounting activities, support accurate and timely reporting, and help maintain strong financial controls across the business. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with close processes, ledger oversight, reconciliations, and audit support within a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the monthly close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and financial results are complete and accurate
  • Maintain oversight of the general ledger, reviewing activity and resolving discrepancies to support reliable reporting
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation and alignment to accounting standards
  • Reconcile balance sheet and other key accounts on a regular basis, investigating variances and correcting issues promptly
  • Coordinate audit preparation by organizing financial records, responding to auditor requests, and supporting the review process
  • Produce and review financial statements to help leadership understand business performance and financial position
  • Strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls to improve consistency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Partner with operational teams in the construction environment to ensure financial data reflects project-related activity appropriately

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in an Accounting Manager or Accounting Supervisor role
