Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team in the Greater Asheville, North Carolina area. This role will be hired at the Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller level based on experience and will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial operations while supporting organizational goals. Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Oversee general ledger activity, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments
  • Support and coordinate external audits, including preparation of schedules and audit support
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to provide insights into business performance
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support strategic planning initiatives
  • Mentor and develop junior accounting staff

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a large corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Experience with internal controls and a solid understanding of compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency in SAP highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
