Job Description:

The Accounting Lead will play a key role in strengthening our accounting operations and financial reporting capabilities as we prepare for a public company environment. We’re seeking a professional with a strong accounting foundation and experience in audit or public-company reporting environments. The Accounting Lead will be responsible for managing month-end and year-end close processes, support audits and partner cross functionally to strengthen internal controls and financial reporting practices. Collaboration and coordination with other departments will be frequent to align on evolving business needs.

Job Responsibility:

Support the month end close process with specific areas of focus including fixed assets, prepaids, capitalized software, leases, intangibles, payroll, accruals, and international subsidiaries
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Analyze financial statements and reports
provide detailed explanations for fluctuations in financial results
Ensure all vendor payments are processed accurately and timely via ACH, wire transfer, or check, in accordance with internal controls and approval hierarchies
Support internal and external audit processes, providing detailed schedules and documentation
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with finance, operations and procurement teams to ensure accurate financial data and alignment with business results
Identify opportunities and execute solutions to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen control frameworks
Contribute on special projects specifically through automation and efficiency efforts and technology implementations

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus)
3+ years of relevant accounting experience, including audit experience (public accounting preferred) or experience at a publicly traded company
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with exposure to SEC reporting or IPO readiness a plus
Financial services industry experience is a plus
Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with SOX/Internal control environments
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g.,Netsuite) and advanced Excel skills
Excellent analytical and organizational abilities, with high attention to detail
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels
Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Nice to have:

Financial services industry experience is a plus
CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
Exposure to SEC reporting or IPO readiness a plus
