Job Description:

David Zwirner seeks a dynamic Accounting Intern at its HQ in Chelsea, NYC. This role will support the Finance team by working closely with all levels, gaining exposure to financial reporting, analysis and various accounting tasks, and reports to the Global Controller. Qualified candidates should be highly personable, organized, motivated, and responsible, with an interest in gaining experience in the daily operations of a contemporary art gallery.

Job Responsibility:

Assist Accounting Manager with balance sheet reconciliations
Support Accounts Payable with vendor statement reconciliations
Help complete bank reconciliations
Aid with document retrieval for year-end audit
Support with credit card reconciliations
Provide assistance to the Tax Manager with document retrieval for sales tax compliance
Assist Global Controller on ad-hoc projects

Requirements:

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in accounting
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice to have:

Passionate and interested in the arts/larger creative arena or is eager to learn
