Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Director to lead and oversee the daily operation of their successful accounting department. The Accounting Director will be responsible for overseeing general ledger accounting activities, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. This role will ensure the integrity of the company’s financial data, compliance with GAAP, and timely completion of financial statements. The ideal Accounting Director will have solid financial analysis skillset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong understanding of GAAP standards, and the capacity to multi-task while meeting crucial deadlines.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage general ledger functions and ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements
  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Coordinate with FP&A, AP, AR, Tax and Treasury to ensure financial accuracy and consistency
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the General Accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in accountability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • CPA a MUST
  • Manufacturing or construction industry experience ideal
  • Proven knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
