Our client a private school based in Litchfield County, CT is adding a managerial role to their accounting team. This role reports to the CFO, works closely with the schools leadership, and manages a team of four. This role offers the opportunity to manage financial reporting, and contribute to board presentations in an educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial operations, coupled with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee monthly financial close processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage general ledger activities and maintain proper documentation
Develop and deliver detailed financial presentations for the board
Collaborate with various departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
Supervise and mentor accounting staff to foster growth and development
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting with school of NFP experience, as well as managerial experience
Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and compliance standards
Experience in an educational or school-based environment preferred
CPA is a big plus
