The Accounting Coordinator facilitates financial transactions, procurement, and accounting operations in compliance with university policies. This position will support multiple units reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Extension. The Division of Financial Services seeks a detail-oriented teammate for the role of Accounting Coordinator within the Administrative Support Center – Financial Operations team. The open position is assigned to serve KSU’s Extension personnel and programs.
Job Responsibility:
Executing timely, accurate and compliant accounting transactions
Managing funds
Supporting budgeting for multiple administrative units
Supporting travel and other expenses
Deposit revenue
Providing useful routine and ad-hoc reports, financial data, budget updates, procurement guidance, and grant compliance
Establishing strong working relationships with unit personnel
Providing outstanding customer service to meet their units' business needs
Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and five years of relevant experience
Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
Nice to have:
Experience in accounting, finance, or related field
Experience in professional accounting/auditing work
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, problem-solving, and math skills
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency with computers, especially accounting software, strong typing skills
High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency, especially when multitasking
