We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join an automotive organization in Torrance, California. This contract opportunity offers a path to a permanent role and supports daily finance operations through a blend of payables, receivables, and collection activities while helping maintain accurate financial records. The position is fully onsite during the contract period, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule after permanent conversion.
Job Responsibility
Handle incoming supplier invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments in a timely manner
Generate customer billing, apply incoming payments accurately, and resolve discrepancies in account activity
Monitor overdue balances and communicate with customers to support collection efforts and improve payment turnaround
Keep accounting files and transaction records organized to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
Assist with month-end close tasks by preparing reconciliations and supporting financial record validation
Use Oracle and related accounting tools to enter transactions, review data, and produce routine reports
Provide additional finance support as workload expands following recent business growth and organizational changes
Requirements
Prior experience performing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and collections responsibilities in a detail-focused setting
Working knowledge of accounting systems such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar enterprise platforms
Strong data entry skills with the ability to process invoices and financial information accurately
High level of attention to detail and the ability to stay organized while managing multiple priorities
Comfortable working onsite in Torrance, California during the contract period
Clear communication skills for coordinating with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
