We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Toledo, Ohio. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a manufacturing environment by managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as performing general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will thrive in a part-time role, working around 20 hours per week, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and process invoices for accounts receivable, including applying payments and managing deposits
Enter accounts payable invoices, match them to purchase orders, and ensure accurate accrual of freight costs
Generate proposed payment lists based on invoice due dates and assist with payment processing via checks and other methods
Reconcile production settlements and manage internal payments, submitting summary reports as needed
Support month-end financial activities, including tracking accounts payable and receivable cutoffs and assisting with journal entries
Assist in generating weekly dashboards and ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making
Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, document scanning, and correspondence handling
Coordinate travel arrangements and procure office and plant supplies to support operational needs
Monitor adherence to company policies and safety requirements while maintaining confidentiality
Cross-train with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Logistics, to provide backup support
Requirements:
Proven experience with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice preparation and payment application
Proficiency in using QuickBooks and other accounting software to manage financial data
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping
Ability to generate reports and assist with month-end financial tasks, including journal entries
Solid communication and organizational skills to manage administrative tasks effectively
Familiarity with general office equipment and processes, such as scanning, archiving, and correspondence
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
Experience in a manufacturing or similar industry is preferred
