We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. In this role, you will provide essential support to the accounting department, handling administrative tasks, assisting with check runs, and contributing to various accounting functions. This position offers the opportunity to cross-train across multiple areas, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform data entry tasks to support the accounting team
Assist with check runs, including stuffing checks and preparing documentation
Handle general ledger coding and three-way matching processes
Provide support during team member absences by cross-training in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing
Conduct investigative research and light collections as needed
Manage packing slips and ensure accurate documentation
Communicate with vendors and address inquiries professionally
Perform general office duties such as filing and administrative support
Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow
Requirements:
1-2 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles
Proficiency in Excel, including formatting, formulas, and data organization
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, cross-trained environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions
