Job Description:

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Brentwood, Maryland. In this role, you will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting various accounting functions. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting tasks.

Job Responsibility:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
Utilize QuickBooks to record financial transactions and maintain bookkeeping records
Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies
Perform data entry tasks to update financial databases and track transactions
Assist with expense reporting and budget reconciliation to support financial planning
Monitor and analyze cash flow to identify potential discrepancies or areas for improvement
Prepare financial reports for management to track company performance
Support inventory management by maintaining cost control measures and financial records
Collaborate with team members to streamline payment processing and credit card transactions
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations in all financial activities

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field
Proficiency in QuickBooks for managing financial records and transactions
Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Skilled in processing invoices and maintaining accurate documentation
Excellent data entry skills with a high level of attention to detail
Familiarity with expense reporting and budget reconciliation
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment
