We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial and administrative operations for a contract assignment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing invoice-related tasks while helping keep office purchasing and accounting records accurate. The person in this role will contribute to efficient payment processing, documentation, and general accounting support across routine business activities.
Job Responsibility
Process a high volume of invoices accurately and enter financial details into company records and accounting platforms
Support accounts payable activities by reviewing charges, organizing documentation, and preparing items for submission and payment
Assist with accounts receivable and billing tasks to help maintain accurate customer and vendor account information
Coordinate office supply purchasing and track routine orders from common vendors such as Office Depot and Amazon
Perform data entry for accounting documents with close attention to accuracy, completeness, and timely updates
Reconcile account information and help identify discrepancies so issues can be resolved quickly
Maintain organized financial files and provide administrative support that helps keep accounting workflows on schedule
Use tools such as Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to update records, monitor transactions, and prepare routine reports
Requirements
Prior experience in an accounting clerk, accounting support, or administrative accounting role
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and invoice processing practices
Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience performing account reconciliations and reviewing financial records for completeness
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with at least one major accounting system such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP
Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented work style
