We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Riviera Beach, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Job Responsibility:
Create and manage electronic and paper job files, including opening and closing files as necessary
Track the status of active jobs, reconcile job costs, and ensure accurate close-out documentation
Compile all relevant records and documents to calculate job costs and prepare customer invoices
Generate progress billings by calculating costs and work completion percentages
Manage customer accounts by maintaining special discounts, tax exemptions, or credit rates
Process credit memos and apply customer payments accurately
Reconcile accounts receivable with the general ledger and resolve any payment discrepancies
Handle vendor invoices and company credit card statements in accounts payable
Maintain organized files for both paid and open payables and receivables
Compare job costs against trial balances and investigate any discrepancies
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as QuickBooks
Strong organizational and communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Basic mathematical skills and familiarity with invoice processing
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
Associate degree or equivalent education and training, or six months or more of related experience
