We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a team based in San Clemente, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable working with high-volume transactions, and confident managing both payables and receivables. The role requires strong accuracy, dependable follow-through, and hands-on experience using accounting software to keep records current and organized.
Job Responsibility:
Process vendor invoices, verify payment details, and help ensure outgoing payments are completed accurately and on schedule
Record incoming customer payments, update account balances, and follow up on outstanding receivables when needed
Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy while maintaining organized supporting documentation
Use QuickBooks Online and related tools to maintain current transaction records and assist with routine account reconciliation activities
Review billing and invoice information for completeness, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with internal or external contacts
Support daily accounting operations by tracking financial activity, organizing records, and assisting with reporting requests
Help maintain orderly accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to improve timeliness and record accuracy
Requirements:
Previous experience in an accounting support or accounting clerk position
Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, including transaction entry and account updates
Strong data entry skills with close attention to accuracy and detail
Experience processing invoices and maintaining organized financial documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle routine accounting work independently
Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating on payment and billing matters
