An information technologies company in Shelton, CT is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong data entry and transactional accounting skills who can support daily financial operations in a fast-paced business environment.
Job Responsibility
Process and enter accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Reconcile invoices, payments, and account records for accuracy
Maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation
Assist with billing, data entry, and general ledger support
Research discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve issues
Prepare reports and spreadsheets for accounting and operational review
Support month-end administrative and accounting tasks as needed
Handle sensitive financial information with accuracy and confidentiality
Requirements
previous accounting clerk, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general office accounting experience preferred
strong attention to detail and organizational skills
proficiency with microsoft excel and accounting software
ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
good communication skills and a professional demeanor
high school diploma or equivalent required
associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
