We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a freight organization in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. This fully onsite opportunity is a contract position with the potential to become permanent for someone who enjoys supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will bring solid accounting support experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to keep financial records accurate, organized, and current.
Job Responsibility
Review, enter, and assign proper coding to vendor bills and employee reimbursement submissions to ensure accurate payment processing
Prepare customer billing and send invoices promptly to support timely collections
Record incoming payments, assemble bank deposits, and complete scheduled check disbursements each week
Compare vendor statements against internal records, investigate variances, and resolve payment or posting issues
Track outstanding receivables, examine aging reports, and follow up on past-due balances with professionalism
Maintain orderly accounting files and preserve supporting documentation for vendors, payments, and billing activity
Contribute to month-end accounting tasks by assisting with entries and payable-related close activities
Gather reports and backup materials needed for audits and respond to documentation requests efficiently
Work closely with vendors, customers, and internal departments to address invoice, billing, and payment questions
Requirements
1–3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting support
Hands-on experience using accounting software such as MAS or Sage, including Sage MAS 90
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
High school diploma or equivalent is required
an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred
High level of accuracy, strong organizational ability, and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with multiple stakeholders
