As the Accounting Clerk at Shannon Property Management, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial activities related to our high-end residential properties. You will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in property management accounting, a strong understanding of industry-specific software, and a detail-oriented approach to their work.
Job Responsibility:
Perform day-to-day accounting tasks for a portfolio of high-end rental properties
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations
Conduct credit card audits, meticulously reviewing transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure consistency between financial statements and internal records
Conduct periodic audits to verify data integrity and identify discrepancies or irregularities
Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including variance analysis and trend forecasting, to support decision-making processes
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections
Collaborate with property managers and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations
Work with Property Managers to ensure understanding of property accounting
Utilize industry-specific software such as Google Sheets, Excel, Appfolio and QuickBooks to manage property accounting and financial operations
Ensure accurate data entry and maintain data integrity within the software systems
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to software functionality or data discrepancies
Stay updated on the latest software updates and improvements, making recommendations for system enhancements as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in property management accounting
Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Appfolio and QuickBooks
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial data management
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus
