Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Columbus, Ohio in a contract role with the potential to become permanent. This position supports day-to-day accounting operations through accurate data entry, invoice review, and check-related documentation while also providing occasional front desk coverage when needed. The ideal candidate is reliable, collaborative, and comfortable working with accounting software and Excel in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Enter financial and operational data with a high level of accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare and complete check documentation while ensuring information is properly recorded
  • Review overhead invoices against receiving records for parts and resolve discrepancies as they arise
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice handling and related recordkeeping
  • Use Sage 300 to maintain accounting information and assist with routine transaction processing in a manufacturing setting
  • Create, update, and organize spreadsheets and reports using Excel and other Office tools
  • Provide backup reception support during lunch periods, vacations, or other staff absences
  • Work closely with team members across departments to keep accounting workflows moving efficiently

Requirements

  • Experience supporting accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, or invoice processing
  • Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with Sage 300 or similar accounting software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to compare invoice details with receiving documentation and identify inconsistencies
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality in a structured work environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others

  • Partner with operations staff and internal departments to confirm project expenses are recorded correctly and aligned with current activity
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable functions by issuing customer invoices, updating account records, and helping maintain current billing information
  • Support prevailing wage documentation by organizing records and helping ensure required paperwork is complete and accurate
  • Maintain internal tracking tools and boards related to receivables, fleet registrations, receipt collection, and general status updates
  • Provide administrative assistance such as sorting and distributing mail, coordinating occasional travel arrangements, and updating internal procedures as needed
