We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a busy legal office on a Contract basis. This onsite role supports day-to-day financial and administrative operations, with an initial schedule of approximately 25 hours per week and the potential to move into a permanent arrangement over time. The ideal candidate brings prior office experience, comfort with routine accounting tasks, and the ability to keep records accurate and organized in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Enter financial and administrative information into internal records with a high level of accuracy and consistency
Assist with basic accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices and preparing items for processing
Support accounts receivable tasks by helping track incoming payments and maintaining current account records
Organize and maintain paper and digital files so documents are easy to retrieve and audit
Provide general administrative assistance to help the office run efficiently on a daily basis
Process invoice-related documentation and verify details before submission or filing
Work closely with the existing team to manage workload priorities and meet recurring deadlines
Requirements:
Previous experience in an office-based support or clerical role
Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures
Experience with data entry and a strong focus on accuracy
Familiarity with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software
Ability to handle invoice processing and maintain organized financial records
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple routine tasks
Reliable communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite team environment
